How to open links from excel file to chrome? There’re many circumstances for employees, students, and entrepreneurs when they have to read an excel file and open massive links or URLs in the browser. That is immensely difficult, manually it can only proceed through copy-paste that not just take time but there’re numerous chances of human error. Anyone can goof up while working around 100+ links or URLs. To conquer this problem, we have developed and published an application. It is a web-based application “Excel Links Reader” that comes up with a chrome extension.
What is Excel Links Reader?
As said, it’s a web-based application, you can upload any excel file on this. Upon submission, this will read and open the link or URL gradually. At every click, this will open a new link or URL on separate chrome windows or tabs.
How to Setup Excel LInks Reader? (Open Links from excel file to chrome)
To set up this application follow these steps precisely:
1- Download the file for the chrome extension using this link
2- Downloaded file in step 1 will be in Zip/Archive format that contains the application folder. You need to unzip/extract the application folder from Zip/Archive file and keep it somewhere on your computer. As shown in the next image.
3- Now visit the extensions page from the chrome browser, enable “Developer Mode“, then click on “Load Unpacked” and select the application folder that you had taken in step 02. Follow the next image.
Once the folder is selected, you’ll see the chrome extension had been added, enable it if not already.
So far you’ve done with the challenging part although it’s one time job, you will not have to repeat this process again. Chrome extension has been added to your chrome browser. Now you can visit the web page to upload your excel file and settings.
4- Visit this link to open a web page. Place email, and column identities (alphabetically) where your links or URLs exist, you can find these column identities in your excel file. Follow the next image for reference.
5- Furthermore, you can set “Index no” in web page settings (index no is the position of the link/URL in the excel file) where you want to start reading. For instance, index no. 3 will let this application start opening the links from the row at no.03 and ignore rows 01 and 02.
6- You’ll also find an option in the setting to define whether you want to open links or URLs in new tabs or new browser windows. Select it accordingly.
7- Upload your excel file and click submit.
On submission, the application with open links either in new tabs or windows. To open further links or URLs from the next rows. Click on the chrome extension icon. If the extension icon is showing, then you need to pin it. Follow the next image.
